About Invisalign
Invisalign is the most established clear aligner system in orthodontics, and at Wire Orthodontics, it is our primary aligner treatment. If you are considering clear aligners, this is where that conversation starts.
The system works through a series of custom-made, removable trays — each one slightly different from the last — that guide your teeth through a planned sequence of movements over the course of your treatment. Every set of trays is fabricated from a digital scan of your teeth taken in our office with the iTero scanner, and every movement in your treatment plan is mapped out by Dr. Wire before your first tray is placed. There are no surprises mid-treatment, and no decisions are being made by an algorithm without a doctor reviewing them.
Invisalign is effective across a broad range of cases — crowding, spacing, overbite, underbite, crossbite, and open bite among them. It is not the right fit for every case, and Dr. Wire will tell you honestly if braces would serve you better. But for patients whose cases are appropriate, it offers a treatment experience that fits naturally into adult and professional life. The trays are nearly invisible in conversation; they come out for meals and oral hygiene, and the adjustment appointments tend to be shorter than those for
traditional braces.
Results with Invisalign depend heavily on compliance. The trays need to be worn for 20 to 22 hours per day to work as planned — patients who treat them as optional will not get the outcome they were promised. Dr. Wire discusses this plainly at the consultation because a well-worn set of aligners and a poorly worn set are not the same treatment, regardless of what the plan on paper says.
As an Invisalign provider, Dr. Wire manages your treatment from the initial scan through every refinement and attachment placement to the final result. You are not being handed off to a technician or treated by a different provider at each visit. The same doctor who planned your treatment is the one monitoring it and making adjustments when the case calls for it.
Ormco Spark Clear Aligners
Spark is a clear aligner system developed by Ormco, one of the most respected manufacturers in orthodontics. The trays are made from a proprietary material called TruGEN, which is designed to maintain consistent force on the teeth throughout the wear cycle — meaning the aligner is working effectively on day one of a new set and on day ten, not just at the beginning. Spark aligners are also notably clear, resisting the yellowing and cloudiness that some patients experience with other aligner materials over time.
Clinically, Spark performs well across a comparable range of cases to Invisalign, and Dr. Wire uses it as a strong alternative for appropriate patients. The treatment process is the same — digital records, a fully mapped treatment plan, and regular appointments with Dr. Wire to monitor progress. If Spark is the right fit for your case and your preferences, you will receive the same level of clinical oversight and personal attention as any other patient at this practice.
Angel Clear Aligners
Angel Clear Aligners offer another high-quality option for patients pursuing aligner therapy at Wire Orthodontics. Like the other systems we use, Angel aligners are fabricated from a precise digital scan of your teeth and follow a detailed treatment plan developed and overseen by Dr. Wire from start to finish.
Angel is particularly well regarded for the clarity and comfort of its material, and is a suitable choice for patients with cases that fall within the aligner therapy range. For patients who are candidates for more than one aligner system, Dr. Wire will walk through the relevant differences and give a straightforward recommendation based on your specific case — not on which product carries the higher margin or the bigger marketing budget.
Invisalign For Kids
Invisalign offers a treatment option specifically designed for younger patients — Invisalign First — which is built to accommodate the unique challenges of a still-developing mouth. Unlike aligner treatment for adults or older teens, Invisalign First is designed to work alongside incoming permanent teeth and a jaw that is still growing, making it a viable option for children as young as six or seven when early treatment is warranted.
For the right candidate, Invisalign First can address crowding, spacing, and certain arch development concerns during the phase of treatment when early intervention makes the most clinical sense. Dr. Wire evaluates each child individually to determine whether clear aligners are appropriate or whether a different appliance — including traditional braces or an expander — would produce a better outcome. Not every young patient is a candidate for aligner therapy, and Dr. Wire will be direct about that.
One practical consideration for younger patients is compliance. Invisalign works only when the trays are being worn consistently, and that requires a level of responsibility that varies from child to child. Dr. Wire will factor that into his recommendation and have an honest conversation with both the patient and the parents about whether aligners are a realistic fit for their child’s habits and maturity level.
Invisalign For Teens
Invisalign is one of the most popular treatment choices among teenage patients at Wire Orthodontics, and for good reason. The trays are discreet enough that most people won’t notice them in conversation; they come out for meals, sports, and special occasions, and they don’t come with the dietary restrictions that braces require. For teens who are self-conscious about their appearance or heavily involved in athletics or performance activities, that flexibility is genuinely meaningful.
Invisalign for teens includes a few features designed specifically for this age group, including compliance indicators — small dots on the trays that fade with wear — which give both patients and parents a practical way to gauge whether the trays are being worn as directed. Replacement aligners are also available for the occasional lost or damaged tray, which is a realistic consideration for a teenager’s daily life.
As with all aligner treatments at Wire Orthodontics, Dr. Wire manages every stage personally. He reviews progress at each appointment, determines when it’s time to move to the next set of trays, and makes any refinements the case requires along the way. Teens who are motivated and consistent with their wear tend to have excellent outcomes — and the ones who come in understanding what’s expected of them tend to be the most motivated.
Invisalign For Adults
For adult patients, Invisalign is often the aligner treatment of choice precisely because it fits into an established life without disrupting it. The trays are virtually invisible in professional and social settings; they don’t interfere with eating or oral hygiene routines, and the appointment schedule — typically every six to ten weeks — is manageable alongside a full calendar.
Adult cases vary widely. Some patients come in with relatively minor concerns they’ve thought about for years but never acted on. Others arrive with more complex bite issues, prior dental work that needs to be accounted for, or teeth that have shifted significantly over time. Invisalign is effective across a broad range of adult cases, and for situations that fall outside what aligners can accomplish alone, Dr. Wire will discuss whether a combination approach makes sense.
What adult patients consistently appreciate is being treated as capable of making informed decisions about their own care. Dr. Wire takes the time to explain your case clearly, lay out your options honestly, and give you a recommendation he’d stand behind — not a sales pitch dressed up as clinical advice. If Invisalign is right for you, you’ll know why. If it isn’t, you’ll know that too.
